ABA THERAPY
An appropriate assessment is conducted, including interviews with family/teachers, observation, and formal testing. An individualized treatment plan is developed based on the unique strengths, needs, and learning styles of the child.
Evidence-based interventions are implemented for acquisition of meaningful skills and/or reduction of challenging behaviors.
Treatment plans may include:
Direct 1:1 ABA therapy in the home, school, and community
Parent and teacher training
Coaching and support for parents and siblings
Behavioral shadowing in the school or community
Progress monitoring and ongoing collaboration with parents, teachers, and other professionals are the keys to success! All data is monitored by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst to determine effectiveness, and treatment plans are revised based on the data collected.
Family Training
As the parents and family, you are the center of our team. We partner with you to create an environment that promotes meaningful learning experiences that work for your child. Parent training looks different for each family. Families receive individualized training on behavioral principles, expanding language, teaching to independence, and more. We will choose a format that works best for you –learning in the moment during daily routines, completing structured lessons together, or a mixture of these!
Behavioral Shadowing and Community Support
Consultation for a specific child might include a Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Plan or strategies to increase learning in the classroom or community. Through ongoing professional collaboration, ABA methods can be implemented across settings to help students participate with their peers and gain independence.
Our tailored weekly groups limited to 2-4 students focus on crucial social strategies for making friends, thriving in group settings, and mastering personal space. Your child will learn to apply these skills to real life community-based activities, fostering meaningful integration within the community.
School Consultation
Our BCBAs are available to consult with schools, childcare centers, and homeschooling families for a specific child or for a group of teachers. Training can be tailored to your needs. Let us know how we can help!
Functional Behavior Assessment
When we address challenging behaviors, we must first understand the relationships between the environment and the behavior.
The goals of an FBA include:
Clearly defining challenging behaviors
Pinpointing any triggers or contexts where the behaviors are likely to occur
Identifying why the behaviors are occurring and which more appropriate behaviors can be taught to replace the problem behaviors.
A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) helps us learn why the behavior occurs, resulting in more effective interventions and positive changes that last over time.
